Theoretical Framework

  Wednesday 29th September 2021 Learning Objective:  To apply the theoretical framework to media texts. Media Language: All the different elements used to construct any media product. Camerawork: The camerawork in a film is  the way it has been filmed , especially if the style is interesting or unusual in some way. The director employs sensuous, atmospheric camerawork and deft dramatic touches. Stabling shot- Usually used with a type of location. Long shot- Where a human is in front of the camera. Medium long shot- Where there is action going on with the person in front of the camera. Mid shot- Its where the shot only gets part of the persons body in. (waist up) Close up shot- Shows the persons face shows how they feel.  Soundtrack: Soundtrack includes all of the sound heard in a film/TV show. Wednesday 22nd September 2021 Learning Objective: To analyse tests using the correct terminology. Subject position: Our subject position is everything that goes to make up what we are and where we fit in the world. My subject position is gender fluid, 13 year old, white, lesbian, goes to school in Cornwall I like playing video games and writing. A person who loves anime might get excited when they see this. whereas someone who hates/doesn't watch it might find it boring.  Denotation - The dictionary definition. Connotation - The deeper meaning what we associate with the word or image.  Denote: A gun. Connote: Murder, Death, Injury, Danger, Violence. Denote: A clown Connote: Birthday Party, Killer Clown, Entertainment, Circus.  Denote: A man holding a hammer with a red cape.  Superhero, Strong, Violence. This image could promote mystery because of the girls looking scared and worried and we don't know why  It could also promote murder because of where the camera is it looks like
