Film Genres

L/O - To explore the concept of a film genre.


Starter: List as many film genres as you can in 5 minutes -

Romance sub genres -

Action films - 

  • Marvel movies

  • Star wars
Sub genres for these are - Gore, Fighting and death


Questions about my genre: 

  1. The main genre convention for action is fighting, gore etc.
  2. Joe Russo directed avengers endgame, George Lucas directed star wars and Patty Jenkins directed Wonder Woman
  3. Wonder woman was played by Gal Gadot, Iron man was played by Robert Downey Jr and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker 


  4. There's lots of people which could mean there is a war?












There's red and blue fire which could mean the difference between good and evil.












There's a sword which can deduce fighting which is a genre convention.

6. I think teenagers would most enjoy the violence in action movies because most teenagers like to watch gore and people dying etc. 

7. Fighting, gore, adventure, exciting scenes, action.

8. Unsure as the websites that could've helped me were blocked by my administrator.

9.  Avengers endgame, Avatar, Avengers infinity war. 

10.  Dr Strange in the multi universe of madness.
 
There are lots of close ups/ extreme close up's in the action movie trailers to try and make it more scary. 
The settings/scenery is all dark and red (scary) 
There are many superhero costumes that are worn
The music is definitely action like lots of beats etc.

  Wednesday 6th October 2021 LO: To analyse a media text using Media Language Why do you think they chose this shot type? The camera shot type is a medium long shot.  I think they chose this shot because it shows all of the features like the gun and a clear facial expression. If they had chosen a long shot his facial expression would not be clear and if you chose a mid shot the gun would not be visible so a medium long shot is perfect.  Clothing: The clothing looks professional however, its not exactly something James Bond would wear as he  usually wears suits.  He also looks like a cowboy who are usually outlaws so maybe he's an outlaw in this movie? Trailers and Genre:

Wednesday 12th January 2022 LO - To explore the different features of iMovie and experiment with different genre features. I decided to use the Jurassic park trailer which is an adventure movie. I decided to change it to a horror film because I think that would be the best genre to change it too. 😊  Wednesday 19th January 2022 The old story line is that the new T-rex escapes and kills a lot of people.
